Apple Pie Filling
In a large mixing bowl mix together filling ingredients with the exception of apples and mix well.
Peel, core and cut apples into 1/4 inch slices. As the apples are cut add to mixing bowl and stir well. (Apples will naturally weep but this is good.) See Note #1 below.
Transfer apple mixture to an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan and evenly spread apples in pan.
Preheat oven to 325℉.
Crumble Topping
In a medium sized mixing bowl stir together the sugars, flour, cinnamon, oats, baking powder, pecans, egg and vanilla until the the mixture becomes crumbly and the moisture from the egg and vanilla are well incorporated into the dry ingredients
Sprinkle crumble mixtue evenly over the top of the apples and drizzle melted butter over the top of the crumble topping.
Bake for 45 mins at 325℉ and then raise the temperature to 400℉ and continue baking for another 15 mins or until crumble topping is golden brown.
Let cool at rooom temperature for about 30 mins and serve with vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream.
Notes
*Please use as many organic ingredients as possible.Recipe NotesNote #1- As each apple is cut stir into sugar mixture. This will start the weeping process and prevent apples from turning brown.
